Greenfield power plants in Italy
Marche region
The Marche region is located in Central Italy between the Adriatic Sea and the Apennines. In the north, the region borders Emilia-Romagna and the Republic of San Marino and, in the south, the Abruzzo region. Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio are to the west. Ancona is the regional capital. The region consists of the provinces of Pesaro-Urbino, Ancona, Macerata, Fermo and Ascoli-Piceno. In terms of the amount of sunshine and its intensity, the Marche region is one of the top places in Europe. Sites in the Marche region achieve a global radiation of 1,200 to 2,000 kWh per square meter of surface area.
Marche has numerous advantages in comparison with other regions in Italy, such as Puglia:
- Fewer projects submitted for approval
- Better electricity grid infrastructure
- Rapid processing by licensing authorities and energy supply companies
